Halloween. Hallows Eve. A touchy subject for many Christians. Not a touchy subject in the least for me. Let me start by saying this, I love Halloween (I also love Harry Potter, so.... feel free to stop reading now..) - I love dressing up, I love handing out candy to little sparkly witches and pink princesses, I love the Buzz Lightyears and Spidermen, and I even, beneath all the fake blood and pale face paint, love the lurking werewolves and goblins. And allow me to continue that thought with this: I am also wholly unoffended by your choice either abstain or partake in the Halloween festivities.
In my humble opinion it's not a black and white matter (and yes, I'll probably have a slightly different, or maybe even completely different view on this in two years)- and because I have no interest in arguments or people throwing rotten fruit at me or those who stand beside me, I'll keep this short.
Might I offer that things, whither it be fear, or events or whatever it is (book choices anyone?), are only allowed as much power as you give them. I do believe that we need to be aware of and monitor the things we do, and allow into our lives, but I don't believe that it is the same across the board - what's right for you may not be right for me. The only constant and exception to that being Jesus.
Amen. That's it. I just wanted to say Happy October everyone, and may you have a safe and exciting Halloween! Let the trolling, flaming and altogether undesired ranting begin.
Let it be stated that I am 100% happy to hear, or view rather, every ones opinions on the matter, and would love for you to share them! That's part of the color of life, we all walk a different journey! Be respectful and let's hear it!
