A few nights ago while diddling around on Instagram I came across a quote by Dallas Clayton which said, "Just make what makes you feel." I paused. The statement was so simplistic and everything else, all my work, all my scheming, seemed to melt away in it's light.
Just make what makes you feel.
I sometimes find myself trying to rationalize my creative tendencies. Or worse mold them to appeal to the masses. Which is why I am so grateful for Dallas' reminder. Our job as creatives is to find what makes us feel - what wakes up the slumbering wild within - and to make that. We create doorways to new worlds, new emotions, and invite others to step through. We are bridge makers, and so long as we keep the vicious voice of judgement muzzled it's a simple process.
